North Nampa is a great place to live. To me Nampa is "Mayberry" and Opy Taylor had nothing over me. It was a pleasant country town on the Union Pacific railroad line half-way between Salt Lake City, Utah and Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington. It was nothing to hop on you bicycle and ride 5 or 6 miles to visit a playmate for the afternoon. Downtown Nampa, Idaho was busy; stores were full and shoppers in them. Life was good. Now, life in Nampa, Idaho is still good. Nampa is a smll city of 80,000 compared to 18,000 then, but it is a viberant, active community with an eye on family life. Just in the last five years the city has added over $40 million in new highways, bridges, freeway interchanges and beautiful parks with soccer/baseball fields. This commitment on the city's part has brought in two super Walmarts, a Costco, Sams Club, Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Kohls, J C Penney, Bed Bath and Beyond and many other retail outlets. Many new jobs have been created making it easier to life here and make a living. We are just 45 minutes from the mountains and all kinds of outdoor activities like fly-fishing, snow skiing, water skiing, hunting, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, camping, ATV riding and more. With three major universities and a dozen trade schools education is abundant. We are home to Northwest Nazarene University and Boise State University (Go Broncos), and College of Idaho.
